This yarn is like a string of shiny pearls, the products will be a real luxury. Genuine silk is obtained from the excrement of the silkworm. Silk is very pleasant to the touch, has a beautiful sheen and can be easily dyed. Silk is also one of nature's strongest fibres, absorbing moisture and feeling cool to the touch, making it perfect for spring and summer clothing or accessories.
Composition: 100% mulberry silk, yarn is not superwash treated, hand wash preferably with silk detergent. Machine washable, but only on the wool/silk programme. Beware of temperature shocks!
The yarn should always be soaked before dyeing, ideally in water with vinegar or citric acid if it is to be dyed with acid-based dyes or at least with a mild detergent designed for woollen fabrics.
Weight/weights: 100 g = approx. 400 metres
Recommended needle thickness: 2.5 - 4 mm
Sample size: 10 x 10 cm = 28 stitches x 36 rows on 3.25 mm needles (US 3)
